Technological advancements in medicine are now helping to make extremely delicate surgeries much safer. Robotic spine surgery is one such advancement that now allows surgeons to insert screws into the bones on the spine without having to slice open the patient’s back. Sylvia Chebet visited the Apollo group of hospitals in Navi Mumbai where this technology available in developed economies was recently introduced.
The event was attended by about 140 doctors in Nairobi and 80 doctors in Mombasa.
